Dive into Denim: The Ultimate Fashion Essential

Since the release of Cowboy Carter and Bella Hadid’s cowboy trend soft launch, it’s safe to say that we’ve been having a bit of a cowboy moment over at Meadow Collective. And it’s not just the bandwagon we’re hopping on. We’ve been loving how the cowboy trend is highlighting how to style some timeless wardrobe basics.  

A good pair of jeans is probably the most versatile thing you will ever have in your closet. It goes with almost everything. Depending on the wash, cut, and fit, jeans can be dressed up or dressed down. They can be paired with prints, neutrals, solids, different textures, and even denim (we’re pro-Canadian tuxedo). And not only is it just jeans, a jean skirt, jean jacket, and jean shorts are all key elements to your wardrobe. So, with that said we’ve decided to showcase some of our favorite denim pieces in the shop. 

First, I want to talk about these lovely Rolla’s denim vests. We first saw the trend of these vests last year when Rolla’s and a few other brands released a cloth version, but we’re even bigger fans of the denim one. One of my favorite things about this Rolla’s vest (it comes in two colors: a darker denim and a lighter one) is how fitted it is without being uncomfortable. This piece gives you a nice, streamlined silhouette without being restricting. Pair with some jeans or a nice denim skirt for a truly cowboy look. 

We currently have three denim skirts (technically two skirts and one skort) that would pair great with one of the Rolla’s denim vests. In the picture above, we paired the darker vest with the Rolla’s Chicago skirt. We love the slit in the middle of the skirt to spice up the look a bit. However, our Spell Eve Skirt and Rolla’s skort would look amazing with the lighter vest. For all of our skirts/skorts, we love pairing with a nice hat like the Outlaw hat and a nice scarf. 

Up next we have our full denim look. Denim on denim used to be a fashion faux pas, but now it’s giving “The Longest Ride.” We paired our favorite Rolla’s East Coast flares in Dalton Blue. Not only is the silhouette on these jeans so flattering, but the color is perfect to dress up with a printed top. However, we love it with this Spell jean jacket. This jacket is a non-negotiable wardrobe staple for us, and it’s perfect for springtime. With this specific outfit, we love to pair it with the Baja hat, this Navone Lapis necklace, and a few other gold necklaces.
