How To Make Eco-Friendly DIY Christmas Wreaths
Christmas is only fifteen days away, just a little more than two weeks, and I cannot believe it! Time has flown by since November. I feel like I blinked after Thanksgiving, and now here we are. I’ve been so busy with the shop, ordering more inventory for Christmas, and just getting ready for the holidays and general that I haven’t had time to actually enjoy the Christmas season.
And now, it feels like it’s already passing me by! So, to stop for a second and actually join this time of year, me and my girls created some DIY Christmas wreaths to decorate the shop.
These wreaths literally took 15 minutes to make, and they gave me a quick minute to breathe before reorganizing the shop, creating more reels, ordering more gifts, and everything else I have to do on my to-do list.
So, if you too need a quick break, or you just want to add a little easy holiday cheer to your home that isn’t industrial plastic things made in China, take 15 minutes out of your day. Take a breather and spend some time with your family while making some eco-friendly decorations.
Materials:
Like I said, these wreaths only took 15 minutes. They’re ridiculously simple, and you only need about three things: flexible sticks and vine, dried flowers, and some twine. I also added a crystal to spice mine up a bit, but you can customize yours any way.
For the base of the wreath, I actually just went out to the park near the shop and picked up some loose tree vines on the ground. I also collected some sticks, both long and short.
For the adornments, I used some dried flowers that I had in the shop. If you don’t have your own dried flowers, you can buy some or just use fresh ones. I especially love added using seasonal colors like red and white.
And as for the twine, well you can get that at any arts and craft story, or you can substitute with some burlap string or anything you have lying around the house. But, I personally love the rustic touch that the twin gives to these wreaths.
Directions:
You can fully assemble these wreaths in three easy steps.
First, take your vine and make a circle, and then secure your circle with the twine to make the base of the wreath. Now take your long, flexible sticks and bend them into the shape of the wreath base. Again, secure with the twine.
Second, add your dried floors to the wreath and secure with twine. You can add them all along the wreath, but I chose to only put mine at the bottom. Add any other adornments you might want like crystals, ribbon, etc.
Third, hang your wreath up. It’s just that easy! Now, you have an eco-friendly DIY wreath you can decorate your home with.
