Meadow Collective Picks: Katelin

There are a lot of people that make the Meadow Collective dream possible. The shop wouldn’t be anything without you guys. Every time you chose to shop here you continue to make my dream come true. However, I do have to give a special shout-out to my team of girls.

Owning a small business is tough, and for a while, I did everything by myself: inventory, styling, new orders, social media, etc. But then I realized I was not only getting burnt out but also limiting my growth. By trying to handle everything myself, I couldn’t actually focus on moving forward or scaling for the future. Every day was an “I just have to get through today’s tasks” kind of day.

But now that I have my team of girls, I can actually enjoy having the shop. I can focus on a future vision for the shop, and I can take some time for myself so I don’t get burnt out so quickly. I no longer feel tied to the shop, and I know that if I leave for vacation for a few days, everything will run smoothly. So, to bring some recognition to my girls, I thought I’d do a series of blogs where they picked some of their favorite items from the shop.

Up first are Katelin’s picks. Katelin is our tech expert/kiteboarding queen. She loves the beach and the beachy aesthetic. I first met Katelin when she came into my shop for fairy hair. We started talking about SEO, and that was that. I felt like the universe sent me Katelin to help me develop my site and ultimately launch my blog. Learn a little bit more about Katelin below!

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi, my name is Katelin. I do Meadow’s SEO and blog. And occasionally, I also do some other tech stuff for Meadow. I graduated from the University of Miami last year, and outside of working with Meadow, I also am a freelance writer and kiteboarding instructor. I love being outside and by the water.

How would you describe your style?

I’d definitely describe my style as beachy. I like light, flowy fabrics; tans, whites, and blues; and crocheted and linen styles. I love simplicity, and I think that reflects my style. I like a more relaxed, effortless look that doesn’t require a lot of time.  However, with that said, when I get a chance to go out, I love being a bit extra and wearing some of the more unique pieces in my closet ;)

Miami going out outfits, what to wear to clubs in Miami

What’s one trend you’re loving right now?

I’m loving the forever jewelry trend that’s become so popular as of late. I feel like I’m always on the run, but I do still love some good, classic accessories. So, at least with that I don’t have to think about putting a bracelet on. It’s already there.

What to wear in Miami

One of my favorite things to do is travel; this is me in Alaska!

One item in your closet you will never get rid of and why?

I will never get rid of my embroidered cowboy boots. I got them in Nashville a few years ago, and even though I seldom wear them, they’re easily one of my favorite things in my closet.

What’s your favorite thing about Meadow Collective?

I’ve been working for Meadow for a couple of years now, and honestly, one of my favorite things about Meadow Collective is Meadow herself. I feel like over the last couple of years, I’ve really gotten to know her, and she’s gotten to know me. Working with her feels more like a friendship than work, and I love how she keeps things real.

For this look, I pulled together a SoCal kind of look that you could dress down to hang out by the beach or dress up for a nice dinner. The base of this outfit is the Spell Boudoir Cami in this lovely Coral Gold color and these Spell ChaCha Wide Leg pants (which are now sold out ). I love pairing these two together because you get an effortless look with a nice, relaxed flowy silhouette. The lace details on the cami give this look a little extra something, and the color combo of the pants and the cami is perfect for spring and summer.

(If you’re looking for another one of my favorites in the store, I’m also in love with the Tana Folk Nomad Skirt in Orchard Sun).

To pull this look together, I threw in these Minda Kesh wrap sandals and these Constellation earrings by Navone. I love these wrap sandals because they give major mermaid core vibes, and like I said before, I love the beachy style. These earrings are perfect when you want to dress up an outfit but put in minimal effort.

Some of my other favorite items are the Here and Now hat we just got in, these blue tortoise Crap sunglasses, the Osso ceramics lazy daisy mug, and the Osso ceramics pour over coffee cone.
