New Year, New Trends

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Being a small business owner requires you to wear a lot of different hats. Some days I’m doing taxes and applying for grants; others I’m styling different looks, ordering new lines, and helping customers find the perfect dress for whatever occasion. But one of the more recent jobs I’ve had to come to love about being a small business owner is staying on top of Reel and TikTok trends.

I’ve always been good about creating a timeless look that lasts through the years, and I’ve always done decent with my Instagram. But with TikTok and Reels, there’s always something new to learn, and it seems like trends spread even faster through the fashion community. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good trend—super glad I got to bring out my hair clips and bell bottoms again—but trends typically outcome accompany fast fashion.

So in an effort to show people that you can stay on top of trends and still support slow fashion, we’ve put together some sustainable outfits that showcase trending aesthetics.

clean girl aesthetic, how to look like a clean girl

This first look is about all the clean girl aesthetic. She’s the girl who always looks effortlessly chic in whatever she wears. She’s put together and loves athleisure. Her signature look is a slicked-back bun with some glamorous sunnies and gold hoops. To put this look together, we started with the black high-rise run short and this Girlfriend Collective Topanga bra. In case, you’re a clean girl who lives somewhere a bit colder than Miami, you can also style this look with our Jen’s Pirate Booty Famous Jacket. And of course, we had to add some classic clean girl accessories. These gold hoops, gold herringbone necklace,  Crap sunglasses, and Solar Eclipse yin yang hair clip are the perfect clean girl accessories. They’re minimal, and they’re the perfect accents to your natural beauty. Being a “clean girl” is about being simple. The clean girl cares about her health. She is the picture of self-care, so she would love our sustainable beauty products like the Native Nectar Hyaluronic serum. And you know she would be using her face roller every day.

cottage core, how to dress more feminine, cottage core fashion

This next look is for our cottage core girlies. These are the girls who secretly want to go live in the woods and garden every day. They are the epitome of the soft girl aesthetic. They love lacey fabrics, soft, pastel colors, and florals. The cottage core girl uses her style to embrace her ultra-feminine side, so we styled this girly Spell Boho mini dress with the Ada Frankie corset and the Friends of Friends Belle hat to create a boho girly look. Our cottage core girlies are reflective, and their self-care routine involves journaling. So, we think they would love this tree free journal.

how to look like a coastal cowgirl, coastal cowgirl vibes

This look is for our coastal cowgirls. These girls love the ocean, but in another life, they lived out West. The coastal cowgirl is headstrong but loves exploring and being out in nature, and her style reflects that. The coastal cowgirl look would not be complete without a pair of cowboy boots and a hat, so we of course had to style this look with our Desert Dreamer cowboy boots and this Lovely Bird Dallas Hat. Our coastal cowgirl is a different version of the cosmic cowgirl who has the same spirit but is a little more glamorous, so we thought we’d pay tribute to both with this Cosmic Cowgirl tee. Both cowgirls would also love these Rolla’s East Coast flares. To pull the rest of this look together, we needed some accessories that show both the tough and feminine nature of the coastal cowgirl, so we added the Bahgsu Rattlesnake Necklace, these Navone Canyon earrings, the Mila Capri bandana, and the Mandrn Billie pouch. But our coastal cowgirl wouldn’t be complete without the Santa Fe Pearl knife.

Our last look is closest to my own heart, the coconut girl aesthetic. The coconut girl is a beach bum at heart. She loves the ocean. She gets up early to watch the sunrise. She doesn’t mind having sand in her car, and her ideal day is spent lying in the sand and soaking up the sun. Our coconut girl loves simplicity but a good pop of color, so we styled the Rolla’s crop camisole with this Jen’s Pirate Booty rainbow tie-dye skirt. She also needs some protection from the sun, so we added the Poppy + Sage Straw Visor and a pair of Crap sunglasses. In true coconut girl aesthetic, she would love these Minda Kesh sandals, a good hair clip, and a little bit of jewelry like our X necklace and DanniJo Cowrie Bracelet. And we really can’t say our coconut girl is complete without a coconut bowl.
