The Best Summer Outfits

Even though it’s already ninety degrees in Miami, today officially marks the start of summer.

So, you know what that means? Pool parties. Garden parties. Weddings. Countless happy hours with friends. Lemonade. Floppy hats. Beach trips. Breezy days under the sun. Oh and of course our favorite thing, new summer outfits.

One of my favorite things about summer is summer fashion.  Summer style means something different to everyone, but for me, it’s easy, breezy, casual, chic, and most definitely bohemian. When I think of summer style, I think of short, airy dresses; light, lacy tops, fun prints, big hats, and statement jewelry. It’s the kind of vibe that’s chic and put together without being fussy or pretentious. It’s cool without trying to be, and it’s an expression of you and your style at its most carefree.

So, to honor one of our favorite seasons, we’ve put together some looks that are perfect for any summer occasion whether you’re celebrating the summer solstice with flower crowns and sangria or you’re getting ready for your next big music festival.

The best outfits for summer

Summer OOTD

This first look reminds me of something I’d wear to a garden party or even a casual night out. I mean let’s be honest, you’re not going to tromp down the beach or hike a mountain in this outfit. But it’s the kind of thing that you’d wear at brunch with some friends. Imagine yourself sipping guava mimosas and laughing with your closest girlfriends in a whimsical cafe while knowing that what you’re wearing is the epitome of cool-girl style.

I love these Novella Royale bell bottoms because they’re fun. They’re quirky, and most of all, they’re sure to turn a few heads. They’re perfect for the summer—because even though they’re pants—the material is light and breathable. And this white lace loveshackfancy top pairs perfectly with them because it’s simple, elegant, and doesn’t steal the show from these groovy bell bottoms. Plus it’s super lightweight.

Of course, these pants and top do well enough on their own, but one of the most fun parts of styling an outfit is adding accessories. For this look, I decided to throw in the Friends of Friends Mario Hat, a fun necklace, and a few statement rings. The hat completes this look and is perfect for shading your face from the sun...and hiding the effects of humidity. And the jewelry... well, the jewelry just adds that special something that ties everything together. Check out our collection of statement rings and necklaces for that extra pop of color or shine that really puts a look together.

obsessed with the Serena Cotton sundress

This next outfit is the definition of transformative. There are so many different ways you can style this Serena Cotton Sundress by Onikas. With a simple change in jewelry or shoes, you can go from a chill day at the beach to a trendy South Beach pool party.  Or just use it as a coverup.

One of my favorite things about this dress is that it’s so easy to wear, in both a comfort and stylistic sense. It’s made out of 100% cotton, so it’s lightweight and comfortable in the summer heat. And its neutral tones make it perfect for dressing up with funky shoes or bold jewelry.

I chose to pair this dress with a fun geometric necklace to add some contrast to the soft, neutral colors. And I also think the bag ties the look together in a way that’s functional and chic. Let’s face it, you always need a purse to carry your stuff in, but leave your everyday one at home and opt for this classic boho clutch that screams summer vibes.
