The Best Outfits to Wear on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a big celebration. It doesn’t have to be this amazing day where you spend time with your other half. You don’t have to have a husband, significant other, or boyfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day. And even if you have any of the above, you don’t necessarily need to go out to a fancy dinner or have grand plans. You can spend the day with your girlfriends, your dog, or even by yourself.

I think the point of Valentine’s Day isn’t to showcase our perfect relationships and fancy dates to the world but rather to take the time to slow down and appreciate the people who are in our lives, the people who we do love. Whether that’s romantic love or the love you have for your family and friends, it counts. And maybe your perfect Valentine’s Day is better spent by taking yourself on a date, sitting down to a nice dinner with yourself, or doing facemasks and taking a bubble bath in the name of self-care. That’s okay too.

My point is Valentine’s Day is about love, love for the people in your life and yourself. So, with that said, we’ve taken some time at the shop this year to put together some Valentine’s Day-inspired outfits for whatever plans you may have. I love this compilation of outfits because it has a little bit of everything for every Valentine’s Day plan! We have the best Valentine’s Day date outfit for a casual or fancy dinner, the best Galentine’s Day outfit for happy hour with your girls, or just hanging out with you and your dog.

The best outfit to wear on Valentine's Day

This first look we have is perfect for a casual date night out. It’s flirty, feminine, and fashionable, but still relaxed enough to be comfortable and casual. Putting this look together was pretty easy since it is so simple. However, you can dress it up a little more by adding the right accessories, shoes, or more dramatic makeup. The main piece in this outfit is the Spell Sangria Play Dress in Nightshade. The floral print of this dress gives it a girly element while the V-neck and fitted waist spice it up a bit. For accessories, we kept it simple. We threw in the Lovely Bird Montana Wide Felt Hat in tawny and a gold necklace. Depending on what shoes you’re styling this look with, you can either go with the JaxKelly clear quartz necklace or for a more feminine vibe the Satya Love Rose Quartz Gold Necklace

This next look is perfect for a bit more of a fancy dinner date. I love this Anjeli Dress in Petal by Indah. It’s a great dress for any special occasion: wedding, garden party, Valentine’s day date, you got reservations at Planta. Whatever the case, it’s a classic piece to have in your closet. Just like with the first look, we kept this look simple. The only accessories we added for this look were the Friends of Friends La Paz and a pearl or gold necklace. For this look either the Pure Gemstone + Pearl Adult necklace or the Dai Necklace pairs beautifully.

Best galentine's outfit

This next look is a bit of a contrast from the last two. When we put this look together, we had Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” in mind. This outfit is all about celebrating yourself on Valentine’s Day because you can buy yourself flowers and write your name in the sand. The main pieces in this outfit are the “Self-Love Club” shirt and the Rolla’s East Coast Flares. We love this tee because it's 100% cotton, and these jeans have stolen our hearts because of their flattering silhouette and comfortable fit. Because of its casual vibes, we decided to add more accessories to this look. These Navone Heart earrings are the perfect Valentine’s Day-themed jewelry. And to top this look off, we also threw in these Crap sunglasses and the Mila Capri Bandana.

what to wear to happy hour in Miami

This next look is our favorite for Galentine’s Day plans. This is the perfect outfit to kick back with your girlfriends, grab a drink, and celebrate Valentine’s Day with each other. We actually think this may be one of our favorite outfits to wear to happy hour in Miami. The main pieces in this look are the Spell Boudoir Cami in Coral Gold and the Rolla’s Original Straight Cord in Magenta. We are obsessing over this Spell cami. It’s ultra-flattering and feminine but has a sexy twist. Plus, it’s so soft. In keeping the theme of the red and pink tones normally associated with Valentine’s Day, we had to style something with these magenta Rolla’s. And normally, we’re not a big fan of pairing two bright pops of color in one outfit, but the warm hues in the Spell cami just work with the undertones in these pants. For accessories, we added the Lovely Bird Dallas hat in dust, the ADA Midi Wrap Belt in tan, and the  Crystal Gemstone Chain Necklace.

picnic outfits, what to wear on Valentine's Day

This last look is perfect for a casual Valentine’s day picnic date. It’s girly and put together yet still super comfortable, perfect for sharing a bottle of wine and charcuterie board in the park or overlooking the water with your loved one. The main piece in this look is the Kivari Cassidy Halterneck Maxi dress. We love this dress for its comfortable silhouette and beautiful detailing. I think it’s actually the detailing on this dress that makes it super unique and adds a more feminine touch. To pull this look together, we also added some fun accessories: these fun round-frame Crap sunglasses, this handwoven Friends of Friends Mia hat, and this to-die-for Heather Kahn Jasmine Pearl Necklace. We only have one more of this necklace in stock, so hurry if it catches your eye—it might even make a great Valentine’s Day present to yourself.
