Thank You.

I remember when I first opened up the shop. I wasn’t sure how people would take it. I didn’t even know that there was even a market for what I wanted to sell in Miami: sustainably sourced, eco-conscious, high-quality clothing.  But over time, Meadow Collective has grown a little following, and I’ve met some of the most amazing people in the community. Even after we’ve had some successes, I still can’t believe when a magazine wants to interview me.

Miami Living Magazine recently did a piece on the shop and the small business grant I applied for. In October, I got an email with some information about a local grant that Comcast RISE was doing to support small businesses during the pandemic. I thought it was a long shot, but I applied anyway. And surprisingly enough, I got it! With the grant, I was able to look into carrying some new sustainable slow-fashion-oriented brands and start doing forever jewelry.

The point of all of this is to say, first, thank you guys. Without your support, Meadow Collective wouldn’t exist. It’s with each and every one of you that I can continue to pursue my dream of bringing eco-conscious fashion to Miami and spreading more awareness about slow fashion. The Meadow Collective community has become like a little family to me, and it’s with you guys that I arrive at these great opportunities. Without your love, I likely wouldn’t have been featured in Miami Living Magazine, Voyage MIA, or selected for Cotton’s profile.

And secondly, I’m so excited to keep doing business in Miami and bringing more eco-conscious choices to the fashion market here. The more exposure the shop gets the more it means for slow fashion. It may sound a little cliche, and I know I’m not stopping large corporations from chemical dumping or reducing mass plastic consumption. But, I really do think that the shop is making a difference. If I can introduce just one person to a brand like Spell that focuses on producing sustainable clothes, then maybe I’ve stopped one person from buying from fast fashion corporations like Shein. Maybe I’ve convinced one person that quality over quantity and slow fashion is worth it. Maybe just maybe, I’ve shown someone that you can have fashion without placing massive stress on the environment.

I strongly believe that every time you make a purchase, you’re voting with your dollar. So, when you guys come in to support me and slow fashion, it means the world. Because, in reality being a small business owner is hard. There are a lot of times when it feels overwhelming, but when you have a loyal customer base who you get to know, it makes it all worth it. And when you guys come in to buy a new piece, I know that at least I’ve done my part to promote eco-friendly fashion.

We have the best team at Meadow Collective

So, the only thing I really have left to say is thank you, one more time. Thank you for the love. Thank you for your support. Thank you for telling your friends about the shop. Thank you for every like and comment on social media. Thank you for every purchase. And thank you for helping me achieve my dreams. Because, we would be nothing without you.
