Meadow’s Fall Favorites

September 22nd was officially the first day of fall, and even though it’s still ridiculously hot in Miami, I’m ready to wear booties, layers, and jeans. I’m ready for darker, richer colors and knit fabrics. I’m ready for cooler days and nights when I can have a bonfire without sweating through my clothes. And most of all, I’m ready for fall fashion. In terms of styling, fall is probably my favorite season. There’s so much you can do with fall staples like a jean jacket or some cute booties, and of course, I love pairing those fall staples with statement pieces to create a unique fall look.

So, to celebrate the start of the season, I’ve picked some of my favorite fall items from the shop. First up, we have a full fall outfit featuring the Nine Lives Bazaar Penny Skirt, the Nine Lives Bazaar Lila Blouse, and these Canyon Cowboy Booties. One of my favorite things about the Penny Skirt is its length. Midi skirts are riding a high right now, and this one is the perfect midi skirt for fall. The colors, the 70s-inspired chevron print, the A-line silhouette: I’m in love. I also absolutely love how the Penny Skirt pairs with the Lila top. The floral embroidery in the Lila top adds a feminine touch that perfectly complements the skirt. Plus, I love how you can style the Lila top. We chose to tie it up, but you could also wear it tucked in with some jeans or jean shorts (check out our Rolla’s Duster Shorts). As for these booties, what’s not to love? Made of genuine suede and leather, these booties will last you a lifetime, and they pair well with a wide variety of looks.

This look simply wouldn’t be complete without accessories, and I couldn’t help myself with this Lovely Bird Dallas hat in whiskey! If you’re ever going to accessorize with a hat, fall is the time to do it. Continuing with our brown motif, I had to include these Crap sunglasses. You can’t see it in the picture very well, but they’re actually brown glitter. For the bag, I chose those sisal basket bags in terracotta. This bag is one of our newest items that I’m most excited about. They’re all handmade in Kenya with sustainably sourced sisal fiber!

Moving onto some of my favorite individual fall items, we have this Jean Jacket by Spell. If you’re going to have anything in your closet for fall, you have to have a jean jacket. It’s great to throw on at night when it gets a bit chilly, and it’s an easy way to upgrade your look to have more of a cool girl feel to it. Since it’s so hot here, I love pairing this jacket with some jean shorts and our Canyon Cowboy booties, but if you live somewhere colder, it goes great with a pair of jeans. It’s the best jean jacket for fall!

Speaking of jeans, my next favorite fall staple is these brick-colored East Coast Flares by Rolla’s. First of all, I cannot get over the color of these. This rich, rusty brown-red is the embodiment of fall fashion. Pair with a solid-colored tank or tee for a neat color-blocked look. Or if you’re a bit more daring and want more of a 70s-inspired fall look, try wearing them with the denim Rolla’s Dallas Vest. You can also try the inverse of that look, by styling the Rolla’s Dallas Vest in tan cord with some classic blue jeans.

Last up is the Spell foxglove embroidered shirt. I love this piece for fall for a few reasons. Number one is its versatility. You can wear this shirt as is, or layer it over a tank top, shirt, etc. Tie it, tuck it in, wear it loose; with this piece, you have a lot of options. Secondly, its color is perfect for fall. This rich, warm olive is easy to pair with other warm-toned pieces and cooler-toned pieces. Plus, I have a feeling that we might be seeing more of this olive color in the upcoming months. Lastly, I love the floral detailing on the back. You might not think of flowers when it comes to fall, but the darker tones in these embroidered designs make it for the season.
