Shower Affirmations: How to Start Your Week Off Right

Sometimes life goes too fast. I feel like summer just started, but here we are in the middle of September. Between my shop, family, and everything else going on in my life, sometimes it’s moving too fast.  And a lot of the time I forget to take a minute and slow down. I try to practice self-care and remember to breathe, but life can get overwhelming you know. And that’s why I love these Shower Affirmation cards.

Sometimes during the day, I feel like my shower is the only time I have to myself away from the stresses of everyday life, and lately, I’ve been using these cards to remind myself to slow down and take a minute. I mean isn’t the shower where all your best ideas have ever come from? It may not seem like a lot, but it’s a little self-care ritual I’ve come to love.

I know the idea of shower affirmations or even affirmations, in general, doesn’t work for everybody. And I’m not saying that by just saying something, it will happen—you still have to work hard. But, I do believe by reframing your mindset and welcoming positivity, you’re putting yourself in a better place to do good work and follow your dreams.

Healthline even says that affirmations can have some positive impact on your life. Affirmations can help replace negative thoughts that may keep you from reaching your full potential. Say you have a meeting with a client you have been wanting to meet your entire career that you’re nervous about. If you let negative thoughts circle in your mind, then you’re not going to enter the meeting with confidence, and you might even downplay some of your own skills. By reframing your mindset with a positive affirmation, you might enter the meeting more relaxed and confident in your own skills.

It’s simple. You just take one of these waterproof cards; get them damp in your shower; stick them on the wall; and reflect on the message. There’s no adhesive on the cards, and they don’t bleed or stain the walls of your shower or tub.

This is one of my favorite affirmations :)

After you’re out of the shower, you can leave them on the walls of your shower for the next time you need a little rest and reflection. Or, you can peel them off the walls, gently dry them, and then put them back in the resealable pouch. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot in terms of self-care, but I really appreciate the ritual. Plus, it makes me stop and reframe my mindset.

Nowadays with social media and everything moving a million miles a minute, I feel like we can get caught up in things that aren’t as important. From comparing ourselves to this influencer and that influencer to seeing everyone else’s highlight reels, we often forget that nobody is perfect. Everyone has their own struggles, and we’re all on our own journey.
